*Exclude biliary obstruction
*To assess for hepatic cirrhosis and [[hepatocellular carcinoma]].
 
The MRI findings may include nodular appearance, splenomegaly and [[ascites]] in case of [[portal hypertension]] in patients with [[hepatic cirrhosis]].
