Overview
Polycythemia may be present in the patient with Tetralogy of Fallot. Thrombocytopenia and deficiencies in coagulation factors may also be present.
Hematocrit
The hematocrit usually ranges from 65% to 70% in patients with Tetralogy of Fallot.
Platelet Count
Patients with Tetralogy of Fallot may also have a low platelet count .
Coagulation Factors
Patients with Tetralogy of Fallot may have lower than normal coagulation factors, including lower than normal levels of fibrinogen. The prothrombin time (PT) may be prolonged.
