CT Scan
CT scan is done to mainly detect
- Extent of disease. Its very much useful in cases of lesions of oral cavity , tongue, esophagus.
- Metastatis to regional lymph nodes can be assessed.
- Perineural invasion in lesions near the nerves especially in oral cavity,nasopharyngeal tumors.

Advantages:
- CT is less expensive than MRI.
- CT is more sensitive in finding involvement of bones, cartilages.

Disadvantages
