Common Risk Factors
Common risk factors for the development of the disease inlcude:
- Chronic sun exposure.
- Fair skin
- Elderly age (>45 yrs)
- Male sex
- Smoking
Less Common Risk factors
- Personal History of a skin cancer previously
- Xeroderma Pigmentosa
- Drugs that cause photo-sensitivity like ibuprofen, isotretinoin etc.,
- Immuno suppression in post-transplantation patients
- Skin inflammation or injury.
