Overview
All encephalopathies are not preventable. A few like hepatic, metabolic, hypoxic are preventable. Early determination of these conditions is very important in terms of morbidity/mortality and cost of the treatment.

- Hepatic encephalopathy
- Prevention of liver failure
- Vaccination for hepatitis
- Administration of lactulose in cirrhotic patients
- Avoiding transjugular shunt
- Wernicke encephalopathy
- Abstinence from alcohol
