Secondary TTP
Predisposing risk factors of Secondary TTP are:
- Cancer
- Bone marrow transplantation; (TBI is a risk factor).
- Pregnancy; rare.
- Medication use:
- Platelet aggregation inhibitors (ticlopidine and clopidogrel)
- Immunosuppressants (cyclosporine, mitomycin, tacrolimus/FK506, interferon-α)
- HIV-1 infection
