Secondary TTP

Predisposing risk factors of Secondary TTP are:

• Cancer
• Bone marrow transplantation; (TBI is a risk factor).
• Pregnancy; rare.
• Medication use:
  • Platelet aggregation inhibitors (ticlopidine and clopidogrel)
  • Immunosuppressants (cyclosporine, mitomycin, tacrolimus/FK506, interferon-α)
• HIV-1 infection
