Risk factors for the autoimmune type of Addison's disease include other autoimmune diseases:
- Chronic thyroiditis
- Dermatitis herpetiformis
- Graves' disease
- Hypoparathyroidism
- Hypopituitarism
- Myasthenia gravis
- Pernicious anemia
- Testicular dysfunction
- Type I diabetes
- Vitiligo
Certain genetic defects may cause these conditions.
