Other Diagnostic Studies

Biopsy

  • Liver biopsy may be considered. However, it may be inappropriate when acute hepatitis is diagnosed based on other findings facilitating appropriate management.
  • It is the gold standard and may assist in diagnosis of Wilsons disease which may be missed with serological tests.
