Objective
To determine the safety and efficacy of CER-001 on atherosclerotic plaque progression and regression in patients with acute coronary syndromes.
Methods
CHI-SQUARE: Can HDL Infusions Significantly Quicken Atherosclerosis Regression? This is a phase II, multi-Center, double-blind, ascending Dose, placebo-controlled, dose-finding trial of CER-001 or placebo in subjects with acute coronary syndrome. 504 patients were grouped into: placebo, low dose, mid dose, and high dose of CER-001 groups to receive a total of 6 infusions in 5 weeks. The total coronary plaque volume is measured with intravascular ultrasound (IVUS).
