Overview
Pulmonic stenosis is a dynamic or fixed obstruction of flow from the right ventricle of the heart to the pulmonary artery. Pulmonic stenosis is usually due to isolated valvular obstruction, but may be due to subvalvular or supravalvular obstruction. Narrowing of the pulmonary valve is usually present at birth (congenital) or caused by a problem that occurs when the unborn baby (fetus) is developing.
Causes
Life Threatening Causes
Life-threatening causes include conditions which may result in death or permanent disability within 24 hours if left untreated.
