Secondary prevention

Shown below are recommended measures for patients with PAH:

• Avoid pregnancy
• Rigorous follow up in case of pregnancy
• Avoid unnecessary surgeries
• Multidisciplinary care in case of necessary surgery
• Avoid high altitude
• Supplemental oxygen in order to ensure a target oxygen saturation of 91% in case of exposure to high altitude
• Up-to-date immunizations against influenza and pneumococcal pneumonia
