Overview
Other diagnostic imaging for liposarcoma include a positron emission tomography (PET) scan.[1]
Other Imaging Findings
Positron emission tomography (PET)
Positron emission tomography (PET) is useful in assessing liposarcoma, specially if the tumor size is greater than 3 cm, firm and is situated deep within the body. It is useful for following purposes:
- Assess grade of tumor
- Assess stage of tumor
- Prognosis
- Assess tumor shrinkage after chemotherapy.
