Overview
Lipoma must be differentiated from other diseases that cause a mass, such as liposarcoma and neurofibroma.
Differentiating Lipoma from other Diseases
In general there is little differential for a classic lipoma. The main differential is:
- Liposarcoma
- Normal adipose tissue
In certain locations then other fatty masses should be considered :
- Retroperitoneum
- Chest
