Overview
Optional procedures include head CT or brain MRI, lumbar puncture to analyze cerebrospinal fluid, and CT or PET-CT scans.
Other diagnostic studies
Optional procedures include[1]
- Head CT or brain MRI
- Lumbar puncture to analyze cerebrospinal fluid.
- CT or PET-CT scans
Lesions smaller than 1 cm are not reliably visualized with PET scans. PET scan is now part of pre-treatment evaluation in diffuse large B cell lymphoma. The pre-treatment PET is particularly important to aid in the interpretation of post-treatment response evaluation according to new response criteria. PET scan has generally been used in conjunction with diagnostic CT scans.
