Overview

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) classification system, ganglioglioma may be classified into 3 grades based on the severity of disease and the degree of cellular differentiation.

Classification

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) classification system, ganglioglioma may be classified into the following 3 grades:[1]

  • WHO Grade I: Well-differentiated, benign ganglioglioma with slow growth
  • WHO Grade II: Benign ganglioglioma with less degree of differentiation compared to grade I
  • WHO Grade III: Anaplasic, malignant ganglioglioma with rapid growth
