Overview
Multiple myeloma may be classified into several subtypes based on the extent of organ involvement and the disease clinical presentation.[1][2]
Classification
- Multiple myeloma is classified according to the extent of organ involvement into two subgroups:[1]
- Medullary multiple myeloma
- Extramedullary multiple myeloma
- Active symptomatic multiple myeloma
- Smoldering asymptomatic multiple myeloma
