Laboratory tests for anaplastic large cell lymphoma include complete blood count (CBC), blood chemistry studies, flow cytometry, FISH, immunohistochemistry, and immunophenotyping.

Laboratory Findings

Laboratory tests for anaplastic large cell lymphoma include:

• Complete blood count (CBC)

• Anemia
• Thrombocytopenia

• Blood chemistry studies

• Increased LDH

• Flow cytometry
• Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH)

• Negative for the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)

• Immunohistochemistry:

• Negative for human herpes virus-8 (HHV8)

• Immunophenotyping

• Strongly immunoreactive for CD30, Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), EMA, and vimentin
• Negative for AE1/AE3, CK20, CK7, CK5/6, P63, SMA, HMB-45, pan-Melan, S-100, Myo D1, synaptophysin, CD56, desmin, CD15, CD20, Pax-5, and CD3
