  • < 20 yo males
  • Asymptomatic found incidentally on imaging
  • May have adjacent muscle soreness, pressure, or irritation with heavy exercising
  • Pathological fractures
  • Hard, immobile, painless palpable mass
  • Limited range of movements


  • Sessile or pedunculated lesion located at the metaphyseal region of the femur
  • Cartilage cap
  • Irregular subchondral bone
  • Projecting away from the epiphysis


  • Composed of bone, cartilage, and perichondrium
  • Pink fibrous capsule
  • Normal bony trabeculae
  • Absence of spindle cells
