Overview
Patients of all age groups may develop enchondromas. Enchondromas affect men and women equally. The male to female ratio is 1 : 1. Periosteal chondromas commonly affect individuals of 20-30 years of age. Males are more commonly affected with periosteal chondromas than females.[1]
Epidemiology and Demographics
Patients of all age groups may develop enchondromas, although, the incidence of enchondroma peaks in the third and fourth decades of life. Enchondromas affect men and women equally. The male to female ratio is 1 : 1. Periosteal chondromas commonly affect individuals of 20-30 years of age. Males are more commonly affected with periosteal chondromas than females.[2]
