Complications that can develop as a result of PMC are:
- "Worsening of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Adrenal gland dysfunction (15-50%)
- dysphonia or laryngeal obstruction, or a combination of the two
- reduced mouth opening
- epilepsy or hydrocephalur, or both (6-25%)" [1]
