Ultrasonography may help in diagnosing complications of typhoid fever and differentiate it from other diseases presenting with similar symptomatology.

Ultrasonography may help in diagnosing complications of typhoid fever and differentiate it from other diseases presenting with similar symptomatology. Complications which may be diagnosed with ultrasound inclulde:[1][2][3]
- Intestinal perforation (pneumoperitonium)
- Splenic abcess
- Cholecystitis (chronic carrier state)
