Overview
CT scan may be helpful in diagnosis of Syphilis. Findings of CT scan which are suggestive of Syphilis include the following
CT
Pulmonary
- Solitary or multiple pulmonary nodules with or without infiltrates
- Pleural effusion
Cardiac
- Double ring appearance of the Aortic wall with a hyper-dense outer rim and hypo-dense inner rim.
- Thickening or calcification of Aortic wall.
- Arterial enhancement of Aorta.
Head
Multifocal infarction with variable enhancement.
Others
- Perivascular fluid Collection
- Peri aortic lymph node
