Overview
The most potent risk factor in the development of acute pancreatitis is alcoholism. Other common risk factors include Diabetes mellitus, morbid obesity, abdominal trauma, family history, hypertriglyceridemia, cystic fibrosis, renal failure, SLE, and certain medications.[1][2]
