Overview

A positive history of fever, arthralgia and erythema nodosum are suggestive of coccidioidomycosis. The most common symptoms of coccidioidomycosius include fever with chills, cough, and pleuritic chest pain.

History

The significant information that needs to focused in the history of the patient includes

• Any history of travel to the endemic areas
• Any ill contact with similar complaints

Symptoms

Clinical manifestations of Coccidioidomycosis range from subclinical infection to fatal disseminated disease. Symptoms are based on the involvement of organ systems:

Disseminated coccidioidomycosis	Its less common for coccidioidomycosis to desseminate, but if occurs symptoms depend on the organ involved Bone: Joint pain , osteomyelitis Skin : Erythema Nodosum, Erythema multiforme CNS : headache, meningitis GI : hepatosplenomegaly Genito-urinary : prostatitis , Testicular swelling
