Overview
Peripheral quantitative computed tomography (pQCT) may be helpful in the diagnosis of hypopparathyroidism. Findings on pQCT scan suggestive of hypoparathyroidism include increase in volumetric bone mineral density (vBMD) as well as bone mineral density (BMD) of both cortical and trabecular bones.
