CT scan of the adrenal gland is performed to detect the presence of adrenal adenomas and the cause of ectopic ACTH.

CT scan of the adrenal gland is performed to detect the presence of adrenal adenomas and the cause of ectopic ACTH.
It is usually done after:
- Establishing hypercortisolism
- Measuring ACTH levels.
