CT scan is needed if there is suspicion of liposarcoma.

CT scan is useful in diagnosing intestinal lipomas
On CT, lipoma is seen as a well delineated mass with absorption density characteristic of fatty tissue.
Intussuscepted lipoma can also be seen.
CT scan can also differentiate lipoma from liposarcoma.
