Mucinous adenocarcinoma of the renal pelvis was first described in 1960 by Hasebe et al.

Discovery

• In 1886, T DeJulio and other pathologists studying the development of colitis-induced mucinous carcinoma described the association of PTEN mutation with the developemnt of human invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma.
