Overview

There is no single diagnostic study of choice for diagnosing urethral cancer. Cystourethroscopy is useful to evaluate the extent of the disease. Definitive diagnosis is made with transurethral biopsies.

Cystourethroscopy is done to evaluate the extent of the disease.^[1]
Retrograde urethrography in men is used to find the exact location and extent of the disease.
Definitive diagnosis is made with transurethral biopsy.
CT and MRI is used to evaluate spread of cancer and to exclude metastasis
Bone scan : Only if there are symptoms and an elevated level of Alkaline Phosphatase.
