Overview

Homocysteine and MMA levels can be helpful in confirmation. Both serum homocysteine and methylmalonic acid (MMA) levels are increased in helpful confirmatory tests for cobalamin and folate deficiencies. Homocysteine but not MMA is increased in folate deficiency.
