Overview
CT scan may be helpful in the diagnosis of gallbladder cancer. Findings on CT scan suggestive of/diagnostic of gallbladder cancer include invasion of liver and lymphadenopathy, polyps, and mass replacing gallbladder.
Computer Tomography (CT)
Abdominal CT scan may be helpful in the diagnosis of gallbladder carcinoma. Findings on CT scan suggestive of gallbladder carcinoma include:[1][2]
- Polypoid mass within the gallbladder
- Thickening of the gallbladder wall
- A mass replacing the gallbladder
- Staging
- Invasion to adjacent tissues like liver, lymphadenopathy and other organs.
