Primary Prevention
Prevention of anaphylaxis is by the patient becoming aware of their triggers and avoiding it. It is also important to manage comorbid conditions such as asthma, cardiovascular disease, and mastocytosis which increase the severity of anaphylaxis. Patients should be aware that taking beta blockers can block the response to administration of epinephrine. Compliance among patience to carry an epinephrine auto injection should be encouraged. [1]
