Overview

Common causes of first-degree AV block include ischemic heart disease, degenerative conduction system disease, congenital heart disease, connective tissue disease, inflammatory diseases, medications (digitalis glycosides, β-blockers, calcium channel blockers), hyperkalemia, and increased vagal tone.

Causes

Life Threatening Causes

Life-threatening causes include conditions which may result in death or permanent disability within 24 hours if left untreated.
