Overview
Complications
The complications of monkeypox are rare. They include secondary bacterial infection such as pneumonia, sepsis, encephalitis, corneal inflammation of the eyes[1][2][3], and conjunctivitis[4].
Prognosis
Although historically ranged the case fatality rate of monkeypox from 0 to 11 % in the general population, there were no death in the 2003 outbreak in the United States.
