Symptoms

• Cyanosis (usually visible in the nailbeds)
• Hypoxemia
• When the stenosis is mild, it can go unnoticed for many years. If stenosis is severe, dizziness or frank syncope may develop, particularly with exercise.

Physical Examination

Neck

Jugular venous distention

Cardiac auscultation

• Ejection systolic murmur heard in left 2^nd intercostal space
• Wide splitting of second heart sound (S₂)
