Overview
MRI scan is more sensitive in identifying intra cranial lesions than CT scan. It can be used in cases of high index suspicion and negative report on CT scan.
MRI
- It is a more sensitive test that CT scan.
- It better identifies lesions of stroke, white matter lesions, posterior fossa lesions.
- It cant be used as an first line investigation.
- It is more expensive than CT scan, so CT is preferred more than MRI, but it depends on the condition of the patient.
