Complications

• Acute nephritic syndrome
• Blood electrolyte problems
• Chronic kidney disease
• Chronic or repeated urinary tract infection
• End-stage kidney disease
• Fluid overload -- congestive heart failure, pulmonary edema
• Hyperkalemia
• Hypertension
• Increased susceptibility to other infections
• Malignant hypertension
• Nephrotic syndrome
