Overview
The disease's sequelae are highly variable and may include granulomatous hepatitis, arthritis, spondylitis, anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, meningitis, uveitis, optic neuritis and endocarditis.
Complications
- Bone and joint sores (lesions)
- Encephalitis
- Infective endocarditis
- Meningitis
Prognosis
Relapse may occur, and symptoms may continue for years. As with tuberculosis, the illness can come back after a long period of time.
