Elastase in blood serum
Elastase in blood serum |
Editor-In-Chief: C. Michael Gibson, M.S., M.D. [1]
Overview
- The presence of elastase in the blood serum is caused by serine proteinase hydrolyzing elastic occuring in the endothelial cells, macrophages, and granulocytes
Reference Range | |
In Plasma | 60-110 ng/ml |
In Pleural Effusion | 480-2900 ng/ml |
Causes of decreased elastase in blood serum
Causes of increased elastase in blood serum[3][4]
Common Causes
- Acute lung injury[5]
- Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury[6]
- Neutrophilic asthma[7]
- Chronic joint disorders
- Hemodialysis
- Multiple trauma
- Sepsis
- Shock
- Shock lung in pre-eclampsia
