Overview
Symptoms of cyclosporiasis start approximately 7 days following ingestion of water and food contaminated with sporulated oocysts. The most common symptom is watery diarrhea. Other symptoms include loss of appetite, cramping abdominal pain, flatulence, fatigue, low-grade fever, nausea and vomiting.
History
Symptoms of cyclosporiasis begin an average of 7 days (range, 2 days to > 2 weeks) after ingestion of sporulated oocysts (the infective form of the parasite).
