Symptoms
Symptoms may develop slowly, over a period of 2 weeks, or they may develop suddenly. They may include:
- Altered mental status
- Aphasia
- Ataxia
- Confusion
- Decreased movement
- Decreased sensation
- Decreasing responsiveness
- Drowsiness
- Dysarthria
- Hemiparesis
- Eventual coma
- Fever and chills
- Headache
- Inattention
- Irritability
- Language difficulties
- Loss of coordination
- Loss of muscle function
- Nausea
- Seizures
- Slow thought processes
- Visual disturbance
- Vomiting[1]
