Overview
Although a myxoma is not cancer, complications are common such as: Arrhythmias, Pulmonary edema, Peripheral emboli, metastasis, Blockage of the mitral heart valve.

Myxoma is usually a benign tumor, but complications are common, If the tumor grows inside the heart, it can block blood flow, and this may require emergent surgery to prevent sudden death.
