• CT scan is used to:

• Observe the extent of the bone tumor.
• Observe if the tumor has spread into nearby tissues.
• Guide a biopsy needle to the tumor (CT-guided biopsy).
• Observe if the bone cancer has spread to the lung (metastasis).
• Follow response to radiation and/or chemotherapy.
