  • Incidental finding , 50 yo male
  • Asymptomatic
  • May have hematuria and flank pain if ruptured
  • Often unremarkable
  • Oval shape anechoic mass with variable sizes on U/S
  • Well-marginated lesion with thin smooth walls
  • Strong posterior acoustic enhancement
  • Cyst surrounded by a single layer of flattened , cuboidal, or atrophic epithelium
  • Clear to straw-colored fluid

acquired cystic kidney disease  cystic renal dysplasia glomerulocystic kidney  mesothelial cysts nephronophthisis
