The prevalence of myelofibrosis is approximately 1 per 100,000 individuals worldwide. Myelofibrosis is a disease that tends to affect the middle-aged and elderly population. The mean age at diagnosis is 60 years.[1] Males are more commonly affected with myelofibrosis than females. The male to female ratio is approximately 1.5 to 1.[2]
