Overview
CT scans are generally reserved for patients with complications of typhoid fever such as intestinal perforation, bleeding and abscess formation. It may also be helpful in differentiating typhoid fever from other diseases.[1]

CT scan is commonly reserved for patients with complications of typhoid fever such as intestinal perforation and bleeding. Common CT scan findings include:[1]
- Mesenteric lymphadenopathy
- Hepatosplenomegaly
- Intestinal ulceration or perforation
- Abdominal abcess
- Small bowel wall thickening
