Overview
Other tests include: injection of calcium gluconate into splanchnic arteries and venous sampling searching for insulin.[1]
Other Diagnostic Studies
- In case of failed imaging( US-CT-MRI ) to diagnose insulinoma, more adiitional tests need to be done.
- Test can be performed to distinguish between insulinoma and islet-cell hypertrophy.
- Injection of calcium gluconate into splanchnic arteries and venous sampling searching for insulin.[1]
- In insulinoma, test is positive in one artery alone.
- Islet-cell hypertrophy, test is positive is positive in multiple arteries.[2]
