Screening

• According to the endocrine society, screening for acromegaly by measurement of IGF-1 is recommended among patients with the clinical features of acromegaly. These features include the following:
  • • Enlarged hands and feet
    • Change in the facial features
    • Headache
    • Increase sweating
    • Paraesthesia
    • Skin thickening
    • Protrusion of the lower jaw
