Appearance of the Patient
Patient may look thin, cachectic, ill-appearing, diaphoretic, disoriented or obtunded due to severe hyperglycemia and ketosis.
Vital Signs
- Hypothermia
- Hypotension
- Tachycardia
- Tachypnea
- Kussmaul breathing may be present in severe DKA
- Weak pulse due to dehydration
