Common symptoms of bleeding gastrintestinal varices include the following:

• Hematemesis
• Abdominal pain
• Lightheadedness
• Loss of consciousness
• Melena
• Bloody stools (in severe cases)
• Shock (in case of loss of a large volume of blood)
